Sakya masters

Tibetan Buddhism is a living, energy-filled tradition passed on from generation to new generation. It has at its core the wisdom and compassion personified in its teachers. The Sakya tradition of Tibetan Buddhism is particularly rich in gurus who are both learned and able to transmit Buddha's timeless insights in ways which are highly relevant to us all today.

The head of the Sakya tradition, one of the four main schools of Tibetan Buddhism, is His Holiness the Sakya Trizin - second only to His Holiness the Dalai Lama in the spiritual hierarchy of Tibet.

Australia has been especially blessed by the visits of these high lamas in recent years, and Drogmi Retreat Centre has been fortunate to receive land blessings by many of the Sakya masters living today.

We are looking forward to the Lam Dre in 2009 in Australia when three members of the Khon lineage will be present: His Holiness the Sakya Trizin; his son, His Eminence Ratna Vajra Rinpoche; and his sister, Her Eminence Jetsun Kushok Chimey Luding.
