A letter from His Holiness the Sakya Trizin

26 November 2007

In general, Buddha dharma is rapidly flourishing in the Western countries. I have been recently informed that the fastest growing religion in Australia is Buddhism. It indeed gives me much delight to see sincere dedication of our disciples who very meticulously study the Buddhist scriptures and carry out their practices most diligently.

In New South Wales we have a number of devoted members who, to further their knowledge and practice, built a retreat centre, named Drogmi Retreat Centre. Now they aspire to construct a Gompa in the retreat centre. This will be the first Tibetan-style temple in the state. For this purpose a land has been acquired but this undertaking requires much financial support.

This project is born out of genuine and compassionate desire to benefit earnest aspirants of the glorious path of the Buddha. Since I highly appreciate their devoted efforts, I make a sincere appeal to all Dharma brothers and sisters to contribute generously and with an open heart, be it in the form of monetary donations or any assistance. All the contributions will be used wisely.

I rejoice in this noble endeavour and wish them all the success.

With blessings and best wishes,

The Sakya Trizin
