We are pleased to offer a number of price and discount options for Lam Dre 2009.
Lam Dre 2009 teaching costs
- Full price - Aus$2,720.
Payment must be received in full by 25 March 2009.
- Early Bird: 10% discount price - Aus$2,450.
This discount applies to bookings made and paid for in full by 31 January 2009.
- All Sakya Members worldwide: 5% discount price - Aus$2,580.
This discount applies to any current financial member of a Sakya Centre in Australia or overseas. Full payment must be received before your ticket will be issued. Confirmation of membership of a Sakya Centre in Australia or overseas must be received before commencement of the event. Please send a receipt or letter of current membership from your Centre by mail or email.
- Combined Early Bird + Sakya Member: 15% discount price - Aus$2,310.
This discount applies to bookings made and paid for in full by 31 January 2009. Confirmation of membership of a Sakya Centre in Australia or overseas must be received before commencement of the event. Please send a receipt or letter of current membership from your Centre by mail or email.
- Ordained Sangha: 75% discount price - Aus$680.
This discount applies to bookings made for ordained Sangha for the full Lam Dre programme and paid for in full by 25 March 2009.
If you wish to apply for the Sakya Members’ discount, you can subscribe to a Drogmi Retreat Centre/Sakya Tharpa Ling 1 year membership for $100.
Triple Vision teaching costs
- Triple Vision Teachings with Cause Hevajra Empowerment: Aus$1,320.
This ticket price is for the Triple Vision teachings including the Cause Hevajra empowerment (the first 15 days of Lam Dre). No further discounts are applicable for this ticket type. Full payment must be received by 25 March 2009 before your ticket will be issued.
- Triple Vision Teachings: Aus$880.
This ticket price is for the Triple Vision teachings only (the first 10 days of Lam Dre). No further discounts are applicable for this ticket type. Full payment must be received by 25 March 2009 before your ticket will be issued.
Sponsorship packages and opportunities
This is a rare opportunity to make history and support this most precious of teachings. Since the Buddha's time until this present time, it has been a tradition to sponsor these important teachings. Much merit is considered to accrue as a result. It is our wish to keep this tradition alive. Your generosity will help continue to turn the wheel of Dharma.
Financial sponsorship will be used to support members of the ordained Sangha attending the Lam Dre teachings, as well as those in financial hardship.
- Benefactor: $12,000 or more includes one ticket, a private dinner with His Holiness the Sakya Trizin, a private audience, priority seating, a specially bound Lam Dre text plus participation in the Mandala offering that ends Lam Dre.
- Sponsor: $8,000 includes one ticket, a small group dinner with His Holiness and priority seating.
- Friend: $4,100 includes one ticket, a group audience with His Holiness and priority seating.
There are additional opportunities to sponsor lunch for the ordained Sangha and to sponsor the daily traditional tea offerings. Please contact us as soon as possible if you would like to make an offering!

About Lam Dre costs
Teaching costs do not include accommodation or meals.
If there are any surplus monies from the hosting of Lam Dre 2009, these will be distributed as offerings to His Holiness the Sakya Trizin, His Eminence Ratna Vajra Rinpoche, His Eminence Gyana Vajra Rinpoche, Her Eminence Jetsun Kushok Chimey Luding, other lamas, and to funds for Drogmi Retreat Centre. Offerings to Drogmi Retreat Centre will be put towards the development of a Tibetan-style gompa and retreat facilities, in accordance with the wishes of the late His Eminence 14th Gyalsay Rinpoche and with the knowledge and support of His Holiness the Sakya Trizin (Drogmi Retreat Centre project). Such funds will be used wisely at the discretion of Khenpo Ngawang Dhamchoe, the founder and spiritual director of Drogmi Retreat Centre and initiator of Lam Dre 2009.
