Annual Shamatha retreat 4-12 October
Friday 4 – Saturday 12 October 2019
Kamalashila Tibetan Buddhist Centre, Tilba
Shamatha meditation is the foundation of peace and happiness, both spiritually and worldly. Science now recognises that many health issues are related to stress, and increasingly recommend meditation. Shamatha (also known as Calm Abiding Meditation), can help one’s concentration and clear away negative emotions, distractions, and confusion allowing much peace and joy into our everyday lives. To achieve this inevitably takes time, and in this retreat situation one can create the space needed for this transformation.
This retreat is to be held at Kamalashila Tibetan Buddhist Centre at Tilba, in a naturally perfect environment that is remote with beautiful native bush land. The retreat will be conducted by Khenpo Ngawang Dhamchoe, a Tibetan meditation teacher who has been practising these techniques for over 40 years. These eight days can truly be a life changing experience, and the most precious gift that one can receive. This retreat is perfect for beginners to meditation or the more experienced, and will include a good balance of meditation theory and practice. If time is limited for you to attend the full retreat, it is possible to attend the retreat on a daily basis.
During the retreat, Khenpo la will give the mind training teaching, 37 Practices of the Bodhisattva.
It is extremely rare to find such a sanctuary in our busy lives and we encourage you to not miss out on this opportunity.
Bookings are essential. For further information email info@drogmi.org.
