Khenpo Ngawang Dhamchoe is leading a three week pilgrimage to the four holy Buddhist sites in India and Nepal, starting on 28 December 2019. It is truly a rare opportunity to undertake this very special pilgrimage as Khenpo only leads pilgrimages once every three years.
The four holy Buddhist sites are at Bodhgaya, where the Buddha attained enlightenment; Lumbini, the Buddha’s birthplace; Sarnath (Varanasi), where the Buddha delivered his first teaching; and Kushinagar, where the Buddha died and attained Parinirvana.

Arrival and departure
The pilgrimage starts in Bodhgaya, India – the airport is Gaya Airport – and ends at Kathmandu, Nepal. Participants will need to arrive in Bodhgaya on 28 December, and will be free to depart Kathmandu on 19 January, after a concluding dinner the previous evening. Accommodation on the night of 18 January is included in the pilgrimage price.
