Mind and body meditation workshop weekendwith Dr Tony Richardson
7pm Friday 5 February to 1pm Sunday 7 February 2021 On this weekend retreat, Dr Tony Richardson will lead us in a meditational process. We will look at ways to work with our bodies and make friends with our emotions, thoughts and impulses. We will improve our spiritual practices, bringing tolerance and effectiveness to all aspects of our ordinary lives. The workshop will combine Tibetan Buddhist and Western approaches. Tony Richardson is a renowned Somatic Psychiatrist and Tibetan Buddhist practitioner, who has worked in Australia and the USA for many years. He has trained many junior doctors and clinicians in various health care settings and has developed useful ways to encourage and support bodies, hearts and minds along the way. Cost On site stay $300 (includes instructions, accommodation and meals) Off-site stay $250 (includes instructions and meals) Members and Friends of Drogmi receive a 10 per cent discount. Losar celebration Sunday 14 FebruaryTraditionally, Tibetans celebrate Losar ལོ་གསར for three days. This year Losar falls from 12-14 February. At KTBC we will be celebrate Losar and hang prayer flags on Sunday 14 February.
Sunday 14 February program 9am: Hanging of Prayer Flags 10 am – 12 noon: 16 Arhat Puja with auspicious rice and tea offerings Afterwards: Light lunch outside The hanging of prayer flags or ‘wind horses’ on this day is considered to bring you very good fortune, good luck and success in your life. This year, Drogmi Buddhist Institute is offering you the opportunity to participate with a minimum sponsorship of $5. We will write your name, or family's name, on the flag and hang it up at the centre on this day. Sponsorship donations can be made on the website or by making a bank deposit. Ngondro Retreat 11-14 march1pm Thursday 11 March to 1pm Sunday 14 March
Khenpo Ngawang Dhamchoe will instruct us on the first three practices of Ngöndro – Refuge, Vajrasattva and Mandala Offerings. Ngöndro refers to the preliminary or ‘foundation’ practices of Vajrayana Buddhism. Khenpo la will give the required transmissions. This retreat is open to everyone who has an interest in developing their meditation practices. The Ngöndro practices are profound and powerful means for effecting a deep purification and transformation, at every level of our being. Not only do they prepare the practitioner for the profound path of Vajrayana, but they also lead us gradually towards the experience of Enlightenment. Spaces are limited. 4th Uluru Buddhist retreatMonday 17 to Sunday 23 May 2021
We are pleased to confirm that the Uluru Buddhist Retreat has been rescheduled for 2021. Khenpo Ngawang Dhamchoe will lead the retreat. It will last for six nights, with daily visits to Uluru and Kata Tjuta. Khenpo la will give instructions and lead meditations on Compassion, Calm Abiding and Vajrasattva. Uluru is one of the most sacred places in Australia, at our country’s heart and centre. Aboriginal Australians have always known this, now other Australians are discovering this location's great significance and beauty. Many great Buddhist masters have visited central Australia. This is an extremely rare and special opportunity for you to travel to Uluru with such a teacher as Khenpo Ngawang Dhamchoe to receive teachings and practice meditation. Cost $1,800, and $1,700 for members and friends of Drogmi. A $500 deposit is required upon booking with the balance payable by 15 March . The price includes retreat teachings, six nights' luxury twin share accommodation, all meals, hot drinks and land travel at Uluru and Kata Tjuta. Not included in the price are flights to and from Uluru, park fees and cold drinks. Please note in considering whether to participate in 2021 Uluru Retreat there are factors and risks we need to ensure you are aware of. Cancellation and withdrawal Should the retreat be cancelled, DBI would offer partial refunds to participants, less costs DBI have incurred. Should you decide to withdraw from the retreat, DBI would endeavour to offer a partial refund. This would be negotiated at the time as DBI will be making payments at key times, and these are not all 100% refundable. Should you be excluded from participating due to COVID-19 requirements, unfortunately DBI would not be able to offer a refund, or assist you with quarantine costs. Advanced courses
The Complete PathThe International Buddhist Academy in Kathmandu, Nepal, has launched an international seven year training program that encompasses the Tibetan Buddhist path in its entirety. This unique course is for Dharma practitioners of all levels to study and experience training on the theory and practice of the Mahayana and Vajrayana path as transmitted by the founding masters of the Sakya school ofTibetan Buddhism.
Drogmi Buddhist Institute offered the first three years of the international training program. Kamalashila Buddhist Centre, Tilba, from 2017 to 2019. The final four years are offered at the International Buddhist Academy at Kathmandu. Read more |
Cancellation of bookings
A cancellation fee will be charged for bookings which are cancelled. The fee is 10 per cent of the total price, with a minimum of $10 and a maximum of $50.
