Smoothing the dharma path - 2025 appealWe invite you to consider contributing to our fundraising appeal to upgrade the main road up to the Gompa at Kamalashila Tibetan Buddhist Centre.
As you may recall, a few years ago we put in 100metres of concrete paving to improve the worst parts of the road up to the Gompa – and thanks to the kind support of so many, it made a huge difference. We are now looking to extend the concrete paving down the road by 80metres to the bend and also upgrading the road back up to the car park, including putting in new pipes for drainage. By supporting the road upgrade, for decades to come, you will make it easier to access the Gompa, for all your Dharma brothers and sisters, and all others visiting the centre. We aim to complete the project early in the new year so we can offer a smooth welcome for His Holiness the 43rd Sakya Trizin Gyana Vajra Rinpoche who is likely to visit at the end of March 2026. The new concrete section will be laid by JLS Contracting who did the original concrete roadway and have also helped out with the bases for our water tanks. The total cost of the project is $35,000. Khenpo-la has very generously offered to kick off the fundraising with a personal donation of $1,005 – thank you Khenpo!! DBI will contribute $5,000 and to date we have additional personal donations of $3,000 so that’s $9,105 to start the ball rolling! Each donation of $125 will cover 1 square metre of the concrete roadway. Thank you for kindly considering our request – whatever you can contribute will be greatly appreciated! If you have any questions, or require any further information, please email [email protected] or call Jack Heath 0419 239 115. We’ll keep you updated on the campaign over the coming weeks.
