Further information about His Holiness: His Holiness is the first Sakya throne holder to be born and enthroned in India. He comes from the Khon family, one of the oldest and unbroken lineages of revered spiritual families dating from the 8th century in Tibet.
His Holiness has studied under many great masters and is a highly accomplished and realized practitioner. Further information about His Holiness is available here.
Further information about the three Empowerments: The King Tradition Avalokiteshvara and Six Dome Uncommon White Tara empowerments will be bestowed on the first day of the retreat (24 April 2019) and the Vajrakilaya Torma empowerment at the end of the retreat (26 April 2019). To participate in the retreat, you are required to have received a major empowerment—this is the reason His Holiness is bestowing the King Tradition Avalokiteshvara major empowerment at the beginning of the retreat.
All empowerments can be taken as blessings—there is no daily commitment unless you choose to make one.

Benefits of King Avalokiteshvara Major Empowerment:
It is very rare to receive the King Avalokiteshvara major empowerment. Avalokiteshvara is the Buddha of Compassion and the embodiment of all the Buddhas. Once you have received this major empowerment, it qualifies you to receive other empowerments in the future. |
Benefits of Six Dome Uncommon White Tara:
White Tara practice is extremely powerful and helps increase longevity and good health. This practice brings joy and happiness to your life by freeing you from sickness, disease and disharmonious forces and negativity. Tara is attuned and responsive to sentient beings, like a mother is to her children. |
Benefits of Vajrakilaya:
Vajrakilaya is a powerful wrathful deity suitable to our degenerate times. This deity practice can remove all inner and outer obstacles including negative mental states such as anxiety, depression and stress. This Vajrakilaya Torma empowerment comes directly from Padmasambvara to the Khon lineage and remains unbroken. |
