His Holiness the Sakya Trizin - land blessing, May 2009
On Sunday 24 May 2009, His Holiness the Sakya Trizin made his first visit to the Retreat Centre, accompanied by the Khon family members, many local members and more than 80 students from the Lam Dre 2009 teachings.
After a welcome ceremony and tea offering in the packed gompa, His Holiness spoke of the history and naming of the Retreat Centre, and of the plans for the future. He presented Khenpo Ngawang Dhamchoe with a splendid Lam Dre thangka and, to commemorate the auspicious occasion, he most kindly gave a Manjushri transmission with students overflowing from the gompa and listening through windows.
His Holiness then walked around the site of the proposed new gompa and blessed the land. Drogmi has previously been blessed by other Sakya masters including His Eminence Ratna Vajra Rinpoche and Her Eminence Jetsun Kushok Chimey Luding Rinpoche.
